Facial Recognition Will Be Replacing Passports in Australia
Australia’s goal is to have automated air traveller processing by 2020! There will be a “contactless” system implemented by the Department of Immigration and Border Protection. All paper passenger cards and human staff will be done away with, but will be replaced with electronic stations and automatic triage.
Then passengers, instead of showing passports, will be processed through biometric recognition. This will be identification through the recognition of the passenger’s face, irises (eyes), and fingerprints!
